I was fortunate enough to be in Paris during Bastille Day 2017. When I had initially booked the trip, I didn't know it was going to be falling on Bastille Day, so that was really special. I was downtown during the evening and was able to see the most stunning fireworks show of my life at the Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend visiting during this time of year if you can.

Paris was an absolutely enchanting city and will forever be one of my favorite places in the world. It has some of the most delicious food and the most unique experiences. On my second day in the city, I went into the catacombs and saw many human remains on an underground journey under the city. Following this, I had a dinner date at the Moulin Rouge, which I had been greatly looking forward to, as Moulin Rouge is my favorite movie. The food was okay, nothing to right home about, but the show was campy and interesting and I had a great time.

The following
day, I spent the day at the Louvre and made some friends. The Louvre is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, and you can easily spend a full day or more exploring all the art and artifacts therein. It is truly impressive and a place that everyone should try to visit at some point in their lives.

The next day, I spent a lot of time wandering around and seeing some of the beautiful sights Paris has to offer. I also ate at L'Escargot Montorgueil, easily one of the best and most famous restaurants for escargot lovers. It is definitely worth checking out, and you can try escargot prepared in several different ways.
I also spent time seeing some sights on my last day, walking around with some of my new friends and seeing a really cool old fort. I finished the night at a local hookah bar, which was a great way to round off my trip to Paris. I truly cannot wait and I look forward to my next trip to France. Hopefully next time I can see some of the south of the country as well.
